WASHINGTON, DC—Today, Congressman David Kustoff (TN-08) issued the following statement following the Trump Administration’s announcement that all countries importing Iranian oil will be subject to United States sanctions.
“In recent years, Iran has capitalized on sanctions relief, and I applaud President Trump’s decision today to not give exemptions to countries who import Iranian oil. Iran has become a leading state sponsor of terrorism and endangers countries in the Middle East, including Israel, with acts of terrorism. This announcement sends a clear message around the world that America will not tolerate a regime that funds terrorism and oppresses its citizens.
